How to buy and sell bitcoin

Please note regarding rates and fees

  • As all trades with Blockrise are settled directly on the blockchain, it might take longer for a trade to finalise;
  • As trades take longer to finalise, the final exchange rate and fees might slightly differ.

How to buy

Once logged in, follow these steps:

  1. In the left menu, go to "Brokerage"
  2. Enter the euro amount you would like to use to buy bitcoin 
  3. Review the estimated exchange rate and fees, then click Buy
  4. Carefully review the transaction details in the confirmation screen
  5. Sign the transaction using your Blockrise Seed or Blockrise App to authorize the trade.
  6. Once the transaction is signed, Blockrise will execute the trade on your behalf, ensuring that the purchased bitcoin are securely added to your account. This can take up to a few hours, depending on the network, since all our trades are on-chain transactions processed on the blockchain. 

How to sell (dashboard)

  1. In the left menu, go to "Brokerage"
  2. On the left-hand side, click on the green EUR button to switch to bitcoin.
  3. On the right-hand side, the currency will automatically switch to EUR, meaning you will receive euros for your bitcoin
  4. Right under the sell menu, you will find an estimate of the fees for this transaction and a breakdown of how this is estimated. The total fee consists of a trading fee (for using Blockrise's services) and a blockchain fee, which is paid to the network. We cannot influence the network fees. 
  5. Click the "Sell" button at the bottom 
  6. Carefully review the transaction details in the confirmation screen
  7. Sign the transaction using your Blockrise Seed or Blockrise App to authorize the trade.
  8. Once the transaction is signed, Blockrise will execute the trade on your behalf. This can take up to a few hours, depending on the network, since all our trades are on-chain transactions processed on the blockchain. Once it has been processed, you will find your euros on your euro balance. 

 

How to sell (app)

Before you begin: You must have completed app installation during onboarding. This includes setting up your PIN code, biometric authentication, and Blockrise Seed.

Once logged in to the Blockrise app, follow these steps:

  1. From the Overview screen, tap Sell
  2. The Trade screen opens with Sell BTC already selected
  3. Enter the amount of bitcoin you would like to sell using the keypad, or tap Max to sell your entire bitcoin balance
  4. Review the current market rate displayed below your balance 
  5. Tap Preview order at the bottom
  6. Carefully review the transaction details, including the estimated exchange rate and fees
  7. Confirm and sign the transaction using your Blockrise app to authorize the trade
  8. Once the transaction is signed, Blockrise will execute the trade on your behalf. This can take up to a few hours, depending on the network, since all our trades are on-chain transactions processed on the blockchain. Once it has been processed, you will find your euros on your euro balance.
