How to deposit Bitcoin in your account

Depositing bitcoin into a Blockrise account is done through the Blockrise app by generating a deposit address. The same flow is available on the Blockrise dashboard for clients who prefer to work on desktop.

Steps to deposit Bitcoin via the Blockrise app

  1. Open the Blockrise app and go to the Overview tab.
  2. Select Deposit.
  3. Select the Bitcoin tab at the top of the deposit screen.
  4. Read the on-screen information and confirm via the checkbox that the bitcoin being deposited belongs to the account holder. Then select Show deposit address.
  5. Copy the displayed BTC address. Make sure the external wallet sends over the Bitcoin network.
  6. Send the bitcoin from the external wallet to the displayed address. Double-check the address before sending.
  7. After sending, select I have made the transfer. A confirmation appears in the app, and a notification follows by email once the deposit is received.

Processing times depend on the Bitcoin network. Most deposits arrive within an hour, but can take longer during periods of network congestion.

Steps to deposit Bitcoin via the Blockrise dashboard

The same deposit flow is available on the Blockrise dashboard. Go to the Wallet page, select Deposit next to the BTC symbol, and generate a new deposit address. Then send the bitcoin from the external wallet to this address.

Source of Funds

Each Blockrise account has a Source of Funds limit set during onboarding. If the current limit is not sufficient for the intended deposit, the limit can be raised.

You can update your Source of Funds on your Profile page. There, select the button Edit personal information and proceed to the verification process. Under the Source of Funds header, you can raise your deposit limit to the desired amount and provide additional documents, proving the source(s) of the new funds.

Important

Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed. If a mistake occurs, the transaction cannot be undone. For larger deposits, it is recommended to first send a small test amount, confirm that it arrives in the Blockrise account, and then send the remainder.
