How to make your account more secure

Blockrise is committed to providing the highest form of security for your account. Besides our own security measures, you can take additional steps to protect your account. Below are some best practices to enhance the security of your Blockrise account.

Secure your email account

Your email address is used to log in and to receive your verification code. This makes it a critical part of your account security. Make sure it is safe by:

  • Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your email account.
  • Periodically checking if your email account has been compromised through haveibeenpwned.com.
  • Consider using a separate email address for Blockrise.

Use a passkey

A passkey is the most secure way to protect your Blockrise account. Passkeys are resistant to phishing and cannot be intercepted or copied. If you are currently using an authenticator app, we recommend switching to a passkey in your account settings.

Secure your authenticator app

If you are using an authenticator app instead of a passkey, make sure that nobody else has access to the app. Store your restore codes in a safe place so you can recover access if you lose your device.

Keep your devices and software up-to-date

Regularly updating your computer, mobile device, and software applications is essential to avoid leaving vulnerabilities open for exploitation by hackers. Make sure to practice safe web browsing habits. Never click on suspicious links or download suspicious programs.

Safeguard your Blockrise Seed (if applicable)

The Blockrise Seed gives you absolute ownership over your bitcoin. Losing your Blockrise Seed means losing access to your bitcoin. Protect it well. You may also consider downloading the Blockrise App for iOS or Android as a substitute for your Blockrise Seed.
